Beef, Pork and Veal - We take as much care raising our animals for meat as we do our milk animals.

The beef animals are Angus or Angus crosses and receive the same feeds as the milking cows, corn silage, haylage and cracked corn as needed for protein. Their diets are scientifically balanced for their needs. The pigs are fed grain pellets, cracked corn and waste milk from the farm. The pigs live in a spacious barn in pens where they can run and play with their blue balls. The veal calves are fed an all milk diet and live with all the other calves in an airy greenhouse.

When our animals are processed they are shipped to the Windham Butcher Shop in Windham ME, a USDA inspected meat processing facility. The beef is dry aged for two weeks which develops the flavor, then is cut to our specifications and is wrapped in a cryovac (vacuum sealed) plastic package. The fact that the beef is aged and minimally processed sets it apart from other beef. All our meat is sold in the stand as frozen cuts. The pork is cut within days of slaughter and some cuts are smoked and do have a minimal amount of nitrites. Bacon is so popular it sells out rapidly.
