Vegetables & Fruits

Sixty acres of vegetables and fruits are grown on the farm. On a seasonal basis we have asparagus, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, parsnips, carrots, sweet corn, cantaloupes, watermelons, and much more. We harvest from April to November. During the rest of the year, we offer select fruits and vegetables as a convenience to our customers.

As a family farm, the long-term health of our soil and land is important to us. While our crops are not organic, we take great care in choosing and using products on our land to ensure they are safe for the environment. Our soils are tested annually and fertilizer is used in specific amounts for the crop needs. We use cover crops in rotation for the health of the soil and as conservation measures. We also grow many of our crops in raised beds with drip irrigation lines, which use low pressure to direct the water to the roots so there is minimal waste. We use integrated pest management techniques, meaning pesticides are used minimally and only when a specific crop is affected.

Together, these methods enable us to meet our goals for sustainability and stewardship of the land, while saving money.
